McInally expects striker to come good

-

Peterhead manager Jim McInally was delighted to see summer signing Ross Kavanagh find the net in a bounce game last week and the Balmoor boss is now hoping that the former Stirling striker is up and running at the Blue Toon.

Kavanagh netted in a 5-5 draw with Forfar last Thursday with Russell McLean hitting a double and Rory McAllister and Jason Brown both scoring as well.

The strike from Kavanagh pleased McInally the most as the Peterhead manager said: “Peterhead have not seen the best of Ross yet, but he will come good.

“He has had chances in games but not been able to take them, however the other night he ran through in a one-on-one

“There is a player there just waiting to come out”

situation and really well.

“There is a player there just waiting to come out and scoring last week was a step closer to making that happen.”

Meanwhile, Edinburgh City’s tabletopping squad is set to become even stronger with defender Brad Donaldson and midfielder John Dunn available again after lengthy injury absence.

Former Hibs, Arbroath, Livingston and Cowdenbeath stopper Donaldson has been out of action since August with an ankle injury, with Dunn unavailable for a similar period due to a knee issue.

Both players are now back in training with manager James McDonagh saying: “It is great to have the two players back in as we are entering a busy period of cup and league football.” finished
