Health board ap­points new head

A new chief op­er­at­ing of­fi­cer has started work at NHS Western Isles.

Wil­liam Find­lay has taken up the post fol­low­ing the re­tire­ment of nurse di­rec­tor Chrisanne Camp­bell.

Mr Find­lay, who is also now the board’s Al­lied Health Pro­fes­sion­als di­rec­tor, pre­vi­ously held clin­i­cal lead­er­ship po­si­tions in Canada.

He said: “It is lovely to be here in the Western Isles. I’ve been made to feel very wel­come and thank ev­ery­one for that, I’m very much look­ing for­ward to work­ing with all of the teams.”

Chief ex­ec­u­tive Gor­don Jamieson said: “I am de­lighted to wel­come Wil­liam back to Scot­land”
