Of­fi­cers net haul worth £3,000

Thou­sands of pounds worth of drugs have been found by po­lice on Skye.

A quan­tity of cannabis resin with a po­ten­tial value of £3,000 has been re­cov­ered by lo­cal of­fi­cers.

The drugs were found dur­ing a search of a house in Broad­ford on Thurs­day, July 27.

And lo­cal po­lice are warn­ing they are keep­ing up their fight to stop peo­ple deal­ing drugs in the area.

As a re­sult of the drugs haul, a 44-year-old lo­cal man was de­tained.

Fur­ther in­quiries are also be­ing car­ried out with a view to a re­port be­ing sub­mit­ted to the procu­ra­tor fis­cal at a later date.

Con­sta­ble Cameron MacDonald who led the op­er­a­tion said: “This search was made pos­si­ble as a di­rect re­sult of in­for­ma­tion ob­tained from the lo­cal com­mu­nity and the re­cov­ery should serve as a warn­ing to those in the area in­tent on sup­ply­ing drugs.”

He added: “We will con­tinue to make Skye and Lochalsh a hos­tile en­vi­ron­ment for drug deal­ers.”

Any­one with in­for­ma­tion in re­la­tion to drug deal­ers in the area is asked to con­tact the po­lice on 101 and ask to speak to a lo­cal of­fi­cer.
