Sword mangets 18 months

A 20-year-old In­ver­ness man was sent to de­ten­tion for 18 months af­ter he ad­mit­ted wav­ing a sa­mu­rai sword about in pub­lic.

Colin Ding­wall then threat­ened po­lice of­fi­cers with vi­o­lence af­ter he was dis­armed and ar­rested in Old­town Road on May 27 this year.

Ding­wall, who was de­scribed as a Pol­mont pris­oner, ad­mit­ted at In­ver­ness Sher­iff Court pos­sess­ing an of­fen­sive weapon and be­hav­ing in a threat­en­ing man­ner.
