Man, 28, ac­cused of deal­ing drugs

A Mo­ray man has ap­peared in court on a drugs charge fol­low­ing a po­lice swoop where £3,000 of heroin was seized.

Shaun Wil­lets, whose ad­dress was given only as El­gin, is ac­cused of be­ing con­cerned in the sup­ply of the class A sub­stance.

The 28-year-old ap­peared in the dock at El­gin Sher­iff Court yes­ter­day, where he made no plea in re­sponse to the charge.

He was re­manded in cus­tody un­til his next ap­pear­ance, which is ex­pected to take place next week.

Po­lice said yes­ter­day that £3,000 worth of heroin had been con­fis­cated dur­ing a raid in El­gin at the week­end. Con­sta­ble Rosanagh Dav­i­son said: “The north-east di­vi­sion is com­mit­ted to en­sur­ing our com­mu­ni­ties are hos- tile places to deal drugs, and we will con­tinue to ac­tively tar­get peo­ple who are in­volved in this ac­tiv­ity.”
