Town given an autumn clean ahead of the Mod

The Press and Journal (Inverness) - - NEWS -

The team – made up of enthusiastic volunteers – is holding an autumn clean on Sunday and they are on the look-out for as many helpers as possible to assist with the task.

Town team secretary Sue Keen said: “Weedkiller has been put down on all the weeds in the High Street, so we plan to remove these. We will also take off any unsightly stickers and we will need volunteers to remove the weeds that are also appearing in the Parade.

“We also want to put winter flowering pansies in the planters in the High Street too and we will be meeting at 2pm on Sunday.”

The team also want to help feed visitors to the Mod and add to their funds at the same time. Mrs Keen added: “We plan to hold a bake sale in our Hub on the Parade on Thursday, October 19. It’s a great way to add to our dwindling funds.

“All baking donations will be most gratefully received and can be left at the Hub from 9.30 am on the day.”

Organisers of the Mod are also on the look-out for volunteers.Anyone who would like to help should e-mail mod2017stewards@ btinternet.com
