the next transfer window, if there are some free agents I feel can help us, the chairman has intimated he would be willing to help me do that.

“In the meantime, it’s only fair I give this group the chance in the coming month or so to see what they’re all about.

“Whether we had won, lost or drawn the game it doesn’t change the programme we’ve got.

“The international break is important to us because it’s valuable time to work with the players on a daily basis and get to know them.

“We will get to know the characters – there will be the life and soul of the party, the serious ones and the quiet ones.

“We will get to know them all as men because we’re all different and sometimes players need to be treated differently.”

County were hampered by the loss of leading scorer Liam Boyce in the summer with the 24-goal attacker leaving to join English Championship side Burton Albion in a £500,000 deal.

Coyle believes he can find a way to replace Boyce’s goals within the Dingwall squad.

He said: “We have got players in the team that can score goals. Missing Liam from last season was always going to be a challenge for Ross County – there’s no doubt about it.

“Within the team we can find solutions to that and that’s what we need to do.”
