Cairney puts in work to find fitness

The Press and Journal (Inverness) - - SPORT -

Peterhead midfielder Paul Cairney has booked himself in for extra training sessions in a bid to get himself fully fit and back in the Blue Toon’s starting XI.

The 30-year-old joined the Balmoor side in the summer from Ayr United but an ankle problem has restricted him to just six starts with manager Jim McInally insisting that Cairney will not be involved until he is fit enough to play.

Cairney is now carrying out extra work with Peterhead’s fitness coach Stuart Hogg who worked with Dundee United and Aberdeen in the past.
