New access point opens
A north-east council office will reopen its doors on Monday following a major £1.75million refurbishment.
Banff Town House, on Low Street, now has a customer service point for local residents to deal with all local authority requests.
Chairman of Aberdeenshire Council’s policy and resources committee Martin KittsHayes said: “This has been a fairly ambitious project to make sure we’re making the best use of our council offices and to help customers access services in a consistent and convenient manner. It has been developed in a way that aims to encourage custom in the town centre and support wider regeneration of the town.”
JohnCox, chairman of the local area committee, added: “The new council services will bring people back into the town centre, and the refurbishment works at theTownHouse will definitely provide a better experience for staff and customers alike.”
Disabled access has been improved. The housing and benefits team will be at Banff Town House from Monday.
