Warn­ing of de­lays as road closes for by­pass works

Mo­torists have been warned to ex­pect de­lays this week­end when a planned road clo­sure takes place for Aberdeen by­pass works.

The North Dee­side Road will be closed for three nights and a 15-mile diver­sion will be put in place as sur­fac­ing works are car­ried out near the new bridge.

Traf­fic from Aberdeen will be di­verted along Spring­field Road, on to the B9119 Queen’s Road, A944 Skene Road, B9119 Tar­land Road and the B979 Malcolm Road, at which point it can re­join the A93 at Peter­cul­ter, west of the clo­sure.

The op­er­a­tion is due to be­gin tonight at 8pm and last un­til Mon­day at 5am.

The re­verse jour­ney should be taken by those wish­ing to travel east into Aberdeen.

Driv­ers trav­el­ling west on the A93 will be able to ac­cess the B979 Mill­tim­ber Brae un­der tem­po­rary traf­fic sig­nals and driv­ers head­ing north on the B979 Mill­tim­ber Brae will only be able to ac­cess the A93 east­bound.
