Ever­est climbers in Nepal link-up

North-east climbers who have con­quered Mount Ever­est have been in­vited to help cel­e­brate Scot­land’s links with Nepal.

The coun­try’s am­bas­sador to the UK, Durga Ba­hadur Subedi, will speak at the Scot­landNepal Friend­ship event on Sun­day evening.

It is be­ing held at 8848 Res­tau­rant, Aberdeen, named af­ter the height of Ever­est in me­tres, and will be at­tended by more than 60 in­vited guests in­clud­ing Aberdeen Lord Provost Bar­ney Crock­ett.

Kr­ish Bhet­wal, the res­tau­rant’s di­rec­tor, said: “We are hon­oured the Nepal am­bas­sador for the UK is vis­it­ing the north-east. We’re hop­ing the event plays its part in strength­en­ing links between Scot­land and Nepal. We want peo­ple to find out about Nepal, the cul­ture and the coun­try as a whole.”
