Amy’s top spot at Belladrum
A world-renowned Scottish singer songwriter has been confirmed as next year’s headliner for the city’s summer music festival.
Amy Macdonald is set to return to centre stage at next year’s Belladrum Tartan Heart Festival, eight years after her debut performance.
The Glasgow-born musician is scheduled to headline Thursday night’s main stage during the two-day event from August 2 to August 4.
Belladrum promoter Joe Gibbs said: “This really is the life now that we can welcome back Scotland’s own wonderful Amy Macdonald to the festival for the first time since 2010, since when she has gone from strength to strength. The Bella crowd are among her greatest fans.”
Other artists confirmed to be performing include Frightened Rabbit and X Factor contestant Lucy Spraggan, as well as The LaFontaines.
Festival favourites Colonel Mustard & The Dijon Five will appear on the main stage as well.
Meanwhile, Frightened Rabbit will play an intimate headline set on the Hothouse – the festival’s second stage, performing the whole of their album ‘The Midnight Organ Fight’.
Following the tradition of a fancy dress theme at the event, Bella has announced that ‘Bollywood’ will be its 2018 theme.
Mr Gibbs added: “We will be bringing back the fancy dress parade and prizes in 2018. We’re hoping for a riot of Bollydrum exhibitionism.”
