Career highlight for Denis Law

The Press and Journal (Moray) - - FEATURES -

SIR, – The Law family thank everyone in Aberdeen who turned out on the evening of Denis’s ‘Freedom of the City’. To be given this honour has been the highlight of Denis’s career. He is a proud Aberdonian and never misses the opportunity to tell people where his roots lie.

Young and old stood on a cold November night and for this we cannot thank you enough. A night we will always remember, the organisation and presentation of the event was quite jaw-dropping. Indeed we might tell you we dine out on the tales for a long time to come.

Denis is an adopted Mancunian where he is held in high esteem, both as a player and perhaps a role in life not given so much publicity, a family man. A father of five, and now very proud of his grandchildren. He has given great support to his local charities Meningitis Now and Cancer Research and the growth of the Denis Law Legacy Trust Street Sport and the facilities available to get children off the street and enjoy sport is first class.

As a family we are overawed at the organisation and welcome received from everyone. It was a never to be forgotten occasion. Thank you again to you all.

Diana Law, Cheshire
