DONS TARGET FOREST MAN ZACH CLOUGH
Aberdeen and Hibernian are competing to sign Nottingham Forest forward Zach Clough.
The 23-year-old has been told by Forest boss Aitor Karanka that he is surplus to requirements at the English Championship side and can go out on loan.
Clough made a £3 million move from Bolton Wanderers to Forest last year.
The Englishman scored 23 goals in 77 appearances for Wanderers but netted only four times in 31 appearances for Forest last term.
Clough, who is 5ft 7in, returned to Bolton on loan for the second half of the campaign, and netted once goal in nine games.
Aberdeen manager Derek McInnes has made no secret of his desire to bolster his attack after the departure of Adam Rooney to Salford City. However, the Dons face competition from Hibs, according to reports from England.
Clough played under Hibs manager Neil Lennon during his time in charge of Bolton.
