‘Dire offering’ from First in Aberdeen
SIR, – First Bus are visibly having problems since their protracted dispute with their drivers. It’s now a daily occurrence for services to go missing, which is extremely irritating for passengers.
What is particularly perturbing is the fact they make no effort to advise passengers which services will fail to operate despite having a “current issues” section on their website and a Twitter feed.
Had they not treated this staff with disdain, causing them to become disillusioned and demoralised, this situation would never have arisen.
A bus operation cannot operate without drivers, a fact Mr Jarvis, MD, seems to have neglected to notice.
On a previous occasion, the traffic commissioner described their operation as “a pretty dire offering”. Perhaps her intervention is again required.
