Woman tried for stalking her ex
A north-east woman has gone on trial, accused of stalking her ex-husband and his new girlfriend.
Katie Purse, who works for the Scottish Fire and Rescue Service, is accused of persistently messaging and threatening Alan Purse between February and December 2015.
The 32-year-old is also alleged to have done the same thing to Lorraine Hawkins, his new partner, between July and December that year.
The couple have three children and were married for seven years.
Giving evidence at Aberdeen Sheriff Court yesterday, Mr Purse claimed
“I got 42 missed calls from her within an hour”
he had felt “scared” by some of the threats.
Fiscal depute Karen Dow asked him: “At some point, did Miss Purse discover that you had met someone?”
He said: “I met with Lorraine outside Union Square in July and we went for a coffee.
“We met online it was our first meeting.
“I saw someone who was friends with her new partner and he came over and said hello and then walked away.
“I got 42 missed calls from her within an hour.”
He was later asked about a phone call in October that year.
He said: “She told me, if I did not start to play ball, she had spoken to a lawyer and I would have to pay her £400 a month and I would have my children taken away.”
Purse, of Woodside Terrace in Ellon denies the charges against her.
The trial, before Sheriff Charlotte Coutts, will resume on Friday, October 13.
