Everest climbers in Nepal link-up
North-east climbers who have conquered Mount Everest have been invited to help celebrate Scotland’s links with Nepal.
The country’s ambassador to the UK, Durga Bahadur Subedi, will speak at the ScotlandNepal Friendship event on Sunday evening.
It is being held at 8848 Restaurant, Aberdeen, named after the height of Everest in metres, and will be attended by more than 60 invited guests including Aberdeen Lord Provost Barney Crockett.
Krish Bhetwal, the restaurant’s director, said: “We are honoured the Nepal ambassador for the UK is visiting the north-east. We’re hoping the event plays its part in strengthening links between Scotland and Nepal. We want people to find out about Nepal, the culture and the country as a whole.”
