Hospital site set for new homes
The site of a former north-east hospital is set for a new lease of life.
Proposals to build 44 affordable homes with parking at the Campbell Hospital, Portsoy, have been given the go-ahead.
Councillors on the Banff and Buchan area committee gave the project planning permission yesterday.
Sanctuary Housing Scotland is to build a mixture of one, two, three and four-bedroom properties.
Campbell Hospital closed in 2011 and was demolished two years later.
Stephen Archer, Aberdeenshire council’s director of infrastructure services, stated: “The importance of the proposal in contributing to the provision of affordable housing in the rural housing market area and to address a specific local need is acknowledged.”
