In­ter­faith week to kick off in city

The launch of this year’s Scot­tish In­ter­faith Week will take place in Aberdeen, hosted by In­ter­faith Scot­land, the Aberdeen In­ter­faith Group, the Aberdeen Multi-Faith Fo­rum and the city coun­cil.

Vol­un­teers re­quired

The Gathimba Ed­wards Foun­da­tion, which raises funds for chil­dren in Kenya, is look­ing for vol­un­teers. The char­ity hopes two peo­ple will help with its Christ­mas Fair at Ru­bis­law Church Cen­tre on Novem­ber 17. The vol­un­teers would be needed be­tween 10am and 2pm. His­tory of hos­pi­tals

The El­lon and Dis­trict His­tor­i­cal So­ci­ety are hold­ing a meet­ing next week.

On Novem­ber 13 Fiona Musk will give an il­lus­trated talk about the his­tory of Aberdeen­shire hos­pi­tals.

The meet­ing will be held in the Buchan Ho­tel in El­lon at 7.30pm. All are wel­come to at­tend the free event.

Less waste, more wealth

An event is be­ing held to ex­plore prac­ti­cal ways to re­duce waste, in­crease wealth and im­prove the qual­ity of peo­ple’s lives in Scot­land.

Less Waste, More Wealth will take place on De­cem­ber 1 in the Sir Ian Wood Build­ing at RGU in Aberdeen.

The event is hosted by Aberdeen Beau­ti­ful.

Ar­mistice Day events

A spe­cial ar­mistice event will take place at the Kirk­yard me­mo­rial in Huntly on Re­mem­brance Sun­day.

It will start at 3pm and will be fol­lowed by a lec­ture on the im­pact of the First World War on the vil­lage of Forgue. Both events are free.
