Kate odyssey over for Shearer and co.
ALAN Shearer’s rewarding adventure with the smart hurdles mare Augusta Kate will end next month when she is sold at the Tattersalls Ireland National Hunt auction.
She won five times and over £140,000 in prize money for the Masters syndicate that also included Ant and Dec, Lee Westwood, Chubby Chandler and her breeder Graham Wylie.
Augusta Kate was bred by Wylie who put together the syndicate after meeting Shearer and Westwood at the Masters in Augusta.
She raced in the same green colours as the jacket traditionally presented to the winner of the Masters each year.
