Racing mourns tragic Foxes boss
THE tragic death of Leicester City’s owner Vichai Srivaddhanaprabha in a helicopter crash last Saturday was felt deeply in the racing world.
He had quickly become a popular figure on the racecourse in this country, hosting guests at boxes at Ascot and other meetings. From modest beginnings buying horses at auction after selling races at Leicester he steadily built up a powerful team to run in name of King Power Racing. Srivaddhanaprabha had several trainers including Andrew Balding, Richard Hannon, Ralph Beckett and Paul Cole. Balding, who trained a team of 50 for him, provided his biggest successes with the three time Group 2 winner Beat The Bank.
