Calladine blow

ROTHERHAM Titans ended their pre-season with a convincing win over Hull Ionians but have suffered a major blow with the news that Tom Calladine has a serious hand injury.

The flanker, who is thought to be out for six weeks, badly damaged his hand in a pre-season friendly against Sheffield Tigers earlier this month.

One possible replacement in the long term is Ionians flanker Laurence Cowen who’s having trials with the Titans. Cowen scored Rotherham’s only try in their heavy defeat a week ago by Northampton Saints.

The Titans will open their Championship campaign a week today against London Welsh at Clifton Lane.
