Russell: I should have tried drop-goal

-

GLASGOW fly-half Finn Russell was left rueing his decision not to attempt a dropped goal five mintues from time

“It’s frustrating losing by a couple of points when I could have taken a dropped kick to maybe win the game. With hindsight, I should have had a go and then when I made that break rather than put the chip over I should maybe have gone a few more phases and we could have had another go.

“The Munster defence was very difficult, they put 14 men on the front line the whole time, that’s why we used quite a few chips. We matched their physicality but they are hard to break down.

“Now we know we will have to go down to Leicester and get a win and we know how difficult that can be.”

Munster’s Tyler Bleyendaal: “What a battle. There wasn’t a lot of running but the set piece and breakdown was so intense. Glasgow are one of the best attacking teams in Europe and to hold them tryless, we are pretty excited about that.

“You can have all the technique you want but we are in the quarter-finals off the back of the pride and attitude we put into our defence.”
