Warrior Haisila is the shining light
BIRMINGHAM Moseley denied Macclesfield a vital win in their fight against relegation by beating them in a game littered with errors at Billesley Common.
Moseley had Worcester Warriors dual registration youngster Afeafe Haisila to thank for the victory with the 19-yearold running in tries either side of half-time.
Macclesfield started well with a rolling maul and Francis Barker went over with Lewis Barker kicking the conversion.
It took Kevin Maggs’ side until the 21st minute to level thanks to Christopher Brightwell jinking his way under the posts.
Just five minutes later the pace of Edward Sheldon proved too much and the young winger tore open a gap to score before Haisila held strong while being tackled to touch over his sides’ third converted try for a 21-7 lead at the break.
Macclesfield rallied and a fast piece of play released Timothy Jeffers to pull his side back into the tie.
With 62 minutes played the Blues pulled the deficit back to two points at 21-19 after Oliver Parkinson scores.
Haisila would prove the difference and kicked through a loose ball before touching down his second and despite a late Myles Hall bonus-point try the visitors were beaten.
