Bishop’s poised to make more history

-

BISHOP’S Stortford’s steady progress over the last 15 to 20 years within the whole club could see them further rewarded on Saturday.

If they beat bottom placed Exmouth, Stortford will be promoted as champions of National Two South with a game to spare.

This will be just four years after they were promoted as National Three London and South East champions.

This came after ten years in the division which saw tough times.

If they go up as champions, it is a big achievement for skipper Tom Coleman and stalwart forward Mark McCraith, who made their first team Stortford debuts in the 2003/4 season.

McCraith, who has missed the last two months through injury, has been an indomitable force as a lock or No.8 over many years. Coleman has been a fantastic fly-half with an astute tactical brain and has also been a brilliant place kicker. DAVID RIMMER via email
