Saints leading charge for Biggar

NORTHAMPTON SAINTS are ready to spend out around £600,000 a season to tempt Welsh No.10 Dan Biggar to Franklin’s Gardens for the 2018-19 season.

Biggar is coming into the last 12 months of his dual National Contract with the Welsh Rugby Union, and does have the option to extend it for 12 months.

But the fly-half is on the verge of walking away from the Ospreys and making the move to the Premiership.

Biggar, below, didn’t get a sniff of Test action in New Zealand but impressed in the games that he did play and Saints are closing in on him.

Biggar has turned down big money moves to England and France in the past but now feels that the time is right to make the move. And the WRU and the Ospreys will not be able to come anywhere near the package that the Saints are going to put together for him.
