Mostert puts Premiership on red alert
SPRINGBOK lock Franco Mostert is attracting the interest of a host of Premiership clubs for when his contract in Japan and South Africa runs out next year.
Mostert, 26, plays for the Ricoh Black Rams and the Lions, but is looking for a move to the Premiership in time for the start of next season.
The younger brother of JP Mostert, who captains the Falcons in the Currie Cup, has also got experience with the Blue Bulls and the Golden Lions.
Mostert, capped 14 times by his country after making his debut against Ireland just over 12 months ago, is one of the Boks’ leading locks alongside Eben Etzebeth.
It is little surprise that Premiership champions Exeter Chiefs have been taking a close look at him over the last few weeks.
It is believed Leicester Tigers, Worcester Warriors, Gloucester, Bath, Sale Sharks and Championship leaders Bristol have all sounded him out about his plans.
