Goss grabs a hat-trick in ten-try success

Chinnor ........ 64 Wimbledon ..22

- ■ By KEN VAUGHN

KIERAN Goss scored a hattrick as Chinnor ran in ten tries against Wimbledon.

A sloppy start by the home side allowed Wimbledon to score a well constructed try on two minutes through winger Harry Tabb.

A good response from Chinnor with some slick handing allowed Orisi Nawaqaliva to round off a 60m movement which Jonny Bentley converted from the corner.

A delicate chip by Bentley put Goss in under the posts to score again as they led after 12 minutes.

Jamel Hamilton added a third try before Wimbledon, after a succession of penalties, took the three points on offer.

Alex Waddingham scored the bonus point try before Goss’ second, both converted by Bentley, had Chinnor 35-10 to the good at half-time.

A try by scrum half Michael McDonald immediately after the break was a sign of Chinnor’s intent.

Another Goss try added to the score followed by some swift build up to allow Henry Lamont to go in for a try. A rolling maul from Chinnor added to Wimbledon’s misery as hooker Rhys Lawrence made it 52-10.

James Gillespie and Joshua Charles added late scores for Wimbledon either side of Goss’ third but Wimbledon left empty handed with Chinnor’s ability to turn defence into attack proving too much for the south London side.
