Why restart the Prem?

I’M PUZZLED as to why the Premiership need to finish the season.

As Saracens are in the Premiership for season 2019/2020 and the Championship for 2020/2021, if every fixture in the Premiership is completed the Championship clubs will be very disadvantaged.

The only reason for completing the season is for European seedings but this could be done by having a knockout competition for the top four (which is what normally happens) leading to a grand final and a knockout competition for the bottom seven (the club in fifth place gets a bye into the quarter final).

Although I’m not bothered about the Lions tour as they never tour the UK,

I appreciate that it’s a big deal for some fans and the top players and as that tour is confirmed for next summer it would be almost impossible for the English players to go if the whole of this season is played out. Simon Marlow-Ridley
