Blooming good time had by school
Cayton School’s KS1 Owl and Seahorse classes visited Irton Garden Centre to put their green-fingered credentials to the test. The children were blessed with great weather for their visit and a few budding gardners were born. Teacher Mark Vasey said: “We took part in planting tomatoes with Ricky Nock, learning about what the different plants, flowers and composts in a talk with another staff member. “We also did a scavenger hunt looking for hidden objects around the centre. “All of the children have taken their plants home to look after and grow. “Each child had a great time and took a lot from the visit.”
