Two club members competed in the Castleton Show road

race, which is described as a road race for fell runners due to the hilly course of approximately six miles. Rhona Marshall was a closeup second female and first Over-35 in 42 minutes 7 seconds.

She was followed by her mother Sue Haslam (pictured

right), who was fifth female and first Over-60 in 45.18. Katy Rawnsley competed in the Kilnsey Show Fell Race.

The course consisted of a testing up and down course of 1.2 miles with 407 feet of climb.

Katy, who is more at home at road races, was pleased to finish 10th female and second Over-45 in 13 minutes 20 seconds.

Nikki Carr competed in the so called short course of the LakeDistrictMountainTrial Races, which consisted of a actual 11.4 miles with 4,300 feet of elevation. There was strong wind and rain and visibility restricted due to a low cloud base. Nikki finished fourth female and 18th overall of 47 finishers in 4 hours 11 minutes. 13 starters failed to finish.
