Brownie leader picks up Queen’s award

Girl­guid­ing Scar­bor­ough West Di­vi­sion handed out an un­prece­dented num­ber of awards to Lead­ers and Young Lead­ers the pres­ti­gious Queens Guide Award. Robyn Wel­burn, of West Di­vi­sion Se­nior Sec­tion and Leader at Forge Valley Brown­ies, re­ceived the Queen’s Guide award and will be pre­sented with it at St James Palace in the new year. She also picked up the Com­mon­wealth award with Erin Gibbs who is a leader at Em­manuelle St Johns Brown­ies. Long Ser­vice Awards are pre­sented at five, 10, 20, 30, 40 and re­cently 50 years were pre­sented to lead­ers. Gill Kirby Leader at Wrey­field Rain­bows be­ing pre­sented her 20 years ser­vice award. The Di­vi­sion Pres­i­dent Pauline Wood­head re­tired af­ter 17 years and the new in­cum­bent Mrs Frances Har­ri­son has now taken over.
