Alan Dunsmore, acting chief executive officer, said: “The construction and infrastructure industry is constantly driving improvements through the supply chain. We believe that this step will enhance our position as the most efficient steel fabricator in the UK and we can continue to provide customers and stakeholders with the high-quality product and service we are recognised for and also react to the constant demands for cost effective product.”

In November, the group, which has worked on the retractable roof for Wimbledon No 1 Court, the new stadium for Tottenham Hotspur and The Shard, announced it was on track to double pre-tax profits by 2020.
