Water fountains to curb bottles?

The Scarborough Evening News - - WELCOME TO YOUR NEWS -

The Labour Group says it had planned to table a creative amendment to the motion requiring Scarborough Borough Council, in partnership with Yorkshire Water and the county council, to work towards installing publically available, freeto-use, water fountains. But the debate was closed down by the mayor before this amendment was tabled. Steve Siddons, leader of the Labour Group said: “It is unfortunate that the mayor didn’t allow full debate of this important issue, which is high on the national agenda, and lost the council the opportunity to make a significant change.”

He says the group will continue to press for changes which improve the environment.
