THEATRE WHoREs AboARd – fREE laugHing Horse @ tHe tHree sisters (Venue 272) HHHHH
I THInK the main problem with this lively whores-and-pirates murder mystery set in St Lucia in 1750 is that it perpetuates the stereotype of the happy hooker. Although people get their throats cut and their hearts broken and there are a couple of rape scenes, the underlying impression is that the whores aboard are all having a jolly old time and can’t help falling in love with the pirates.
Although the actors do their best, the plot has too many inconsistencies and loose ends for this story to be in any way believable.
Until 29 August. Today 1:15pm.
