THEATRE TAlEs FROM A cAbARET Fingers Piano Bar (Venue 221) HHHHH
tHere are some choice moments in this sinister comedy about two white-face cabaret performers working the stage in their hidden basement club. A kind of Weimar laurel and Hardy, they create a figurative and literal underground atmosphere in this basement bar while lampooning the oppressive forces which have driven them here. the Creative Martyrs’ songs are resonant, the audience interaction is quirky, but the piece suffers from lack of focus overall.
Until 28 August. Today 9pm.
