Body found in canal ‘unexplaine­d’

The death of a man found in a canal is being treated as “unexplaine­d”.

The man’s body was discovered in the Forth and Clyde Canal near Falkirk yesterday.

A Police Scotland spokesman said: “Police were called to lock 6 near Bainsford at around 3pm after a man’s body was discovered in the water.

“His death is currently being treated as unexplaine­d however there are no suspicious circumstan­ces. Officers are now in the process of informing his next of kin and a report will be sent to the Procurator Fiscal.”
