#SOLIDARITYWITH CORBYN

At the Labour Party conference Jeremy Corbyn announced plans to restore a multi-million-pound fund to help communities deal with the impact of immigration. But the leader’s own aides said he was not making it an objective to reduce the number of migrants coming to the UK. @krazycommando was supportive of Corbyn, tweeting: “Always ready to bounce back, despite the recent wave of criticism. That’s the leader we need.” @richtmusic was also happy, writing: “Can’t fault Jeremy’s speech. Notice the applause, every time he mentions socialism. A thirst for it in the country. ” But @Lad87red was left unimpressed, joking: “I’m thinking about selling my comedy boxsets – who needs them? The Corbyn cult provide all the laughs I need.”

Great British Bake Off star Nadiya Hussain has embraced the show’s move to Channel 4 amid speculation she could land a role in the new series.” @vstromwaltons thought the move could work, tweeting: “Paul should be joined by Nadiya with Jack Whitehall presenting. Edgy & New. #winningformula.” @Ollybarter joked: “Two days later: ‘Nadiya Hussain announced as new judge on C4’s Bake Off” @DR_PSG added: “Would I watch Bake Off in a world where Mary Berry and Mel and Sue aren’t on it... I don’t think I would”

#LIONKING

The Lion King is about to get the remake treatment, Disney has confirmed. Director Jon Favreau is preparing to bring a live action take on the children’s classic to the big screen. Favreau – who directed the recent live-action Jungle Book remake – teased the news with a cryptic tweet. “Excited for my next project,” he posted, alongside a lion and a crown images. @Yssejana was worried about the news: “The Lion King is one of those movies that does not need to be remade... in any form.” But @AM69FD was happy, writing: “If there’s any Disney movie that needs a remake, it’s definitely The Lion King. That movie is legendary.” @Jackmars added: “Hard thing to do, remaking probably the greatest animated film of all time, but I think @Jon_favreau will absolutely smash The Lion King.”
