Hotel boss freed after kidnapping

A 76-year-old businesswo­man has been freed two days after she was kidnapped in the southern French city of Nice.

Jacqueline Veyrac,president of the board of the five star Grand Hotel of Cannes on the French Riviera, was unharmed, according to Christian Estrosi, president of Nice’s region.

Sophie Jonquet, a lawyer for Ms Veyrac’s children, said she is “apparently in good health”.

This is “a great relief ” to the family, Ms Jonquet told BFM television.

French media reported Ms Veyrac had been forced out of her car near her home on Monday and bundled into another car.
