Firing planks

Here again we have a blundering Alex Salmond at his ‘diplomatic’ best. This time describing Teresa May’s cabinet members as ‘planks of wood’.

I assume he is using the adage ‘you are better talking to a plank of wood for all the sense you get’ to insult Ms May’s cabinet members; implying they’re useless, incompetent and dense.

If this is the case then it’s the ultimate in the ‘pot calling kettle black’ stakes, and it would suggest he has a veritable lorry load of ‘planks’ in Westminster comprising his 56 SNP MPS.

I say this for all the good they seem to have done; their input and contribution to the parliament process appears almost negligible.
