Dundee United Digging in for victory

Our weekend victory was hard fought, with Cammy Bell having to pull off a couple of excellent saves as the Sons defied the usual tactics of the away team and had a right good go. That we should make it hard for ourselves is undisputed, with a gilt-edged opportunity in the first minutes of the game hitting the post rather than rippling the net. However, these are the results we need to get and, even if it isn’t pretty, we need to keep digging them out. Our pink third strip wasn’t the only thing on display that could be construed shocking. The totally inept performance of the referee and far-side linesman could easily have cost United points and we are discovering that the already poor quality of officiating in Scotland diminishes further as you head down the leagues.
