The Scotsman

Wildly unfair

-

Your recent article on wildlife crime highlighted an interesting fact. Although their actions had been recorded on video, the perpetrators of cruel and illegal trapping and vicious killing of protected species could not be prosecuted. This, apparently, is because their actions were recorded covertly, without their permission.

In yesterday’s Scotsman, Kirsty Gunn tells of being covertly filmed while walking with her well-behaved dog in a London park. She did not give permission to be filmed yet she was fined for not having her dog on a lead. The law is undoubtedly an ass.
