Menzieshill made a slow start to their opening pool match against Austrian side Navax AHTC Wien at the men’seuropeanclubtrophy in Elektrostal, Russia, going 2-0 down in only 11 minutes, but finally emerged convincing 6-2 winners in the end.

The Scots top the table on goal difference from another Austrian side SV Arminen who beat ASD SH Paolo Bonomi from Italy by a single goal in the other pool match.

At the women’s Trophy competition in Munich, Grovewentdown3-0tobelarus side GHC Ritm Grodno in their opening encounter. But there were no such problems for Edinburgh University in the fourth tier Challenge II event in Vienna. Even without Scotland players Becky Merchant, Amy Brodie and Sarah Robertson, they handed out a 5-0 thumping to Wien from Austria.
