Man to stand trial on seventies murder charge

-

A man is to stand trial charged with a murder almost 40 years ago.

Riasat Khan, 63, is accused of killing Kazi Ahmad at a flat in Aberdeen on 13 October, 1978.

Prosecutors claim Khan tied the 41 year-old’s hands behind his back and covered his head with an “item of clothing”. It is then alleged Mr Ahmad was repeatedly struck on the neck. Claire Mitchell, defending, has pleaded not guilty on his behalf.
