Slim swimmers
It was interesting to read in your Heritage section about the outdoor public pools built during the 1920s and 1930s in Scotland (The Scotsman, 12 June).
Portobello pool certainly looked to have been a “marvel”, and very popular with holiday-makers. The other item of note is that there is not one overweight person in the photo, it’s all streamlined pilchards and not one beached whale – changed days!
