Stark back in management

- By CRAIG P STEWART

Former Scotland under-21 coach Billy Stark has been appointed manager of Lowlandleaguechampionseast Kilbride. He replaces Martin Lauchlan who left shortly after the K-park side lost the League Two play-off final to Cowdenbeath.

Stark, the former Morton, St Johnstone and Queen’s Park boss, was assistant manager to Darren Young at Albion Rovers for two seasons but turned down the chance to be Young’s No 2 when he moved to East Fife.

Stark said: “I am really pleased to be a manager again and would like to thank East Kilbride for the opportunity. They won the league last season and came very close to securing a position in senior football and it is my job to build on that.

“Whilst the thought of working with Darren again was appealing I am looking forward to taking East Kilbride forward.”
