Submarine revamp: Barge conversion ‘impressive and tricky to drive’

The cast of the Submarine Time Machine get in character for the forthcoming National Theatre of Scotland production,whichseesa50ftglasgow barge converted into a submarine. The vessel’s owner, Beverley Schofield, 55, steered the mock-up wartime sub down the Forth and Clyde canal yesterday. She said she is “delighted” with the conversion. She said: “It’s quite impressive and quite tricky to drive.”
