Girl, 12, seriously injured in collision with car

A young girl was yesterday in a serious condition in hospital after being hit by a car.

The 12-year-old was knocked down at around 7.15pm on Thursday in Sandy Brae, Kennoway, Fife.

Police Scotland said she suffered serious injuries to her head, chest and legs and is being treated at the Royal Hospital for Sick Children in Edinburgh.

The road was closed while officers investigated.
