Man in hospital after bridge plunge

A man has been taken to hospital with serious injuries after falling from a bridge.

Emergency services were called to the Tradeston Footbridge on the Broomielaw in Glasgow at around 3.35am yesterday morning following a report that a man had fallen.

The 28-year-old was taken to Glasgow Royal Infirmary and later transferre­d to the Queen Elizabeth University Hospital for treatment to serious injuries.

Police said inquiries are under way to establish the circumstan­ces of the incident.
