Pedestrian­s targeted in paintball gun shootings

Several people needed hospital treatment after being targeted in a series of “shocking” incidents by two men with a paintball gun, police said.

A total of 16 attacks were reported to police which involved men in a black Audi A4 shooting at innocent people with the weapon. The first attack took place at 1:30pm in Glasgow city centre on Fri- day. Other incidents occurred between 1:30pm and 4pm in the Knightswoo­d, Bearsden, Milngavie, Clydebank and Stirling areas which were also reported.

The final attack happened at 4pm on the road between Gartness and Drymen, where a man suffered a facial injury. Officers are treating the incident as a serious assault. They say several victims needed hospital treatment for minor injuries.
